Info | Born in Virginia, Robert Broughton has been a computer programmer since graduating from Virginia Tech in 1972 and has been instrumental in bringing internet technology to a number of NGO groups (see www.broughton.ca). After moving to Vancouver in 1981 and becoming a Canadian citizen, Bob served as President of the Vancouver Bicycle Club from 1992 to 1994, and was President of Airspace Action on Smoking and Health from 1996 to 2001, where he advocating reduced smoking and use of tobacco products. As President of the Vancouver Bicycle Club, he played a key role in the establishment of the popular Union-Adanac bicycle route, the first of Vancouver’s well-known Bikeway and Greenway network. He is also a long-term Director of the Western Canada Wilderness Committee. Robert has travelled extensively, is an avid photographer and tennis player, and is a better-than-competent singer and guitarist.
