| Info | Ben West is about to commence his fourth year as an elected member of the Capilano College Board of Governors, and his third year as the Chairperson of the Capilano Students Union. He spent several years on the provincial executive of the Canadian Federation of Students and is also currently the vice-chair of the Aurora Institute, a non-profit organisation focused on corporate reform. Ben is dedicated to ecologically aware participatory democracy.
The reason why Ben is running for the Work Less Party in West Vancouver is because he believes that we need to take a close look at the earths carrying capacity as well as our own carrying capacities. "Currently we are putting far to much stress on to ourselves and the planet. Soon we will realize that we are beyond our capacities and we will need a new economic model. The work-less ideology isn't utopian, it's necessary.", says Ben West.
