| Info | Chester County Commissioner Donald A. Mancini was elected to the Board of Commissioners in November, 2003 and was sworn in as Commissioner on January 5, 2004. Don Mancini has had a distinguished record of service in County Government since 1974, when he first came to work at the Chester County District Attorney’s Office as an intern. Over the last three decades, he has worked in Chester County as an assistant district attorney, an assistant County solicitor, solicitor to the Prothonotary, special master in equitable distribution hearings, conflict counsel for mental health/mental retardation hearings, counsel for flow control enforcement, and counsel to parents in children and youth dependency hearings.
As Register of Wills for eight years, Don Mancini continued to prove that government could provide excellent service without increasing costs to taxpayers. During his tenure in office, revenues exceeded expenditures for each year, and for each of the last three years the department had an audit ranked “perfect.”
Don Mancini is an attorney who graduated from Princeton University and Villanova University School of Law. In addition to his work for the County, he has served on the local level in Willistown Township, where since 1983 he has served for nine years on the Planning Commission, four years on the Board of Supervisors, and seven years on the Zoning Hearing Board. To help protect the natural beauty of the township, he worked to acquire land for use as a township park and revise land use ordinances to protect open space.
Don Mancini and his wife Molly Gorman Mancini have two children, Gregory, age 25, and Wynne, age 23, and reside in Willistown.
