Rathbone, deceased; unsuccessful for reelection in 1932 to the Seventy-third Congress; resided in Harbor Springs, Mich., and Springfield, Ill., while engaged in writing his memoirs; died in Springfield, Ill., April 11, 1936; interment in Diamond Grove Cemetery, Jacksonville, Ill.
