InfoRep. Doug Lamborn was first elected to represent Colorado’s 5th district in 2006. He currently serves on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, the Natural Resources Committee, and is on leave from the Armed Services Committee, where he is next in line for full membership with the next Republican vacancy.

Throughout his public service, Rep. Lamborn has been a leader on pro-family and small business issues and a strong advocate for the military, lowering taxes, immigration reform, spending reduction, and protecting the 2nd amendment.

Prior to Rep. Lamborn’s election to the U.S. House, he served in the Colorado House and Senate from 1995 through 2006. Rep. Lamborn received both his bachelor's degree in journalism and his law degree from the University of Kansas, and has been an attorney in private general practice in Colorado Springs for 20 years, emphasizing business and real estate.

Rep. Lamborn is married to Jeanie, his wife of 30 years. Together they have raised five children, including one daughter who recently married and four sons.
