InfoAnge Turner originates from and grew up in Leyland, having attended local St. Anne’s Primary and St. Mary’s High schools, before moving to Hutton where she went on to graduate in Business and Finance at the University of Central Lancashire, with a Bachelor of Arts with honours. Her career has been spent in the Aerospace Industry working in contract negotiation. She gained valuable experience of working abroad having spent six years working in Germany on a European collaborative project supporting the NATO Alliance, with colleagues from the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, and Italy. She now lives in Penwortham with her long-standing partner and has served as a local councillor since 2013, having been the Penwortham Town Mayor. She was re-elected in 2023 to both South Ribble Borough and Penwortham Town councils with a greatly increased majority. As a South Ribble Borough Councillor, Ange was the Group Leader over the last year of the Liberal Democrats holding the balance of power, and was the Chair of External Scrutiny. She was also instrumental in successfully proposing motions on providing ‘warm spaces’ during the winter cost of living crisis, opposing sewage dumping in our local rivers, and the introduction of mandatory voter ID. She is also a member of the Climate Emergency Committee taking an active role in promoting and supporting the Council’s Carbon Neutral targets. As an active community campaigner, she has been involved in forming and working with local Residents Campaign Groups over a number of local issues. In her spare time, she volunteers her services in jointly managing a Social Isolation Café for the elderly and lonely, preparing cooked meals, hot drinks, and providing company and conversation. She also helps out at a clothing bank and with wildlife rescue.
