Info | At 46 years old, I am happily married and the mother of two young children, Alec (10) and Tess (8). My husband Cody and I own a general contracting company that specializes in the construction of single-family homes in Summit County. I act as the secretary/treasurer and the administrator of our business and am also a photographer by trade. I serve as the property manager for a five-unit rental property that we also own. I am an active volunteer in my community. My grandparents and father were cattle ranchers and I was raised by a grade school teacher in Connecticut, and have made my home in Summit County for the past 21 years.
After my parents divorce, my mother struggled to raise three kids on a teacher's salary, with no alimony or child support, however she was always able to provide our basic needs and an environment for learning. She was a monument to human kindness who taught me that my fundamental responsibility is to leave this world better than I found it and to help the less fortunate. My mother also taught me that I can make the world a better place by being an active citizen; and now, I'm in a position where I believe I can make an important contribution to the Utah State Democratic Party.
I embrace the most basic conservative fundamentals - stewardship, community planning and economic sustainability- while focusing on the welfare of individuals and the environment. Through building on our common goals, and by exhibiting tolerance of each other’s differences, we can work together to improve the quality of all our lives.
