Info | Civil rights attorney, former Dallas assistant district attorney
Justin Moore is a Dallas native and Civil Rights Attorney. Growing up in Dallas, Justin learned the inherent dignity of hard work and the importance of perseverance from his parents, who were entrepreneurs and partners in various small businesses.
Justin graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, where he studied in the same liberal arts department that trained Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. After earning his law degree at SMU’s Dedman School of Law, Justin became a prosecutor in the Dallas County District Attorney’s office, working under Craig Watkins, known for his innovations in overturning wrongful convictions.
While at the DA’s office, Justin used his position to champion mental health diversion programs in honor of his brother, Josh, who died by suicide on the same day Justin received his license to practice law. This tragedy has fueled Justin’s drive to pass safer gun laws and fully fund mental health programs.
Shepherded by his life experiences, Justin works on behalf of marginalized people with unwavering compassion and commitment. Now, Justin is ready to take on this new challenge and serve the people of Texas's 32nd congressional district in Congress with the zeal and untiring spirit born out of the loss of his brother, the relentless endurance instilled in him as a child, and the fulfillment he has found in working to better the lives of all people.
