Info | Bart Maves received his Honours Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Carleton University and his Master of Arts in Politics from the University of Alberta. He worked for St. Catharines Federal Member of Parliament Ken Atkinson from 1992-1993. He served as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake from 1995 to 2003.
As an MPP, Bart was the first ever non-cabinet member appointed to Management Board of Cabinet. He also served on Cabinet Committees on Legislation and Regulations and Economic Development. Bart served as Parliamentary Assistant to the Ministers of Labour, Transportation, Health and Community and Social Services.
During his eight and a half years in political office, Bart established an incredible record of successfully bringing over a billion dollars in provincial funding for projects to his riding. Some examples include bringing two provincial casinos to Niagara Falls, provincial funding for the Jeff Morgan Emergency Ward in the Niagara Falls Hospital, three new nursing homes and the start of the Third Hydro Tunnel in Niagara Falls.
Bart has been a proud supporter of the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club for many years and a Member of its Board of Directors. He has served similarly at the Niagara Falls Curling Club. Bart has spent many years coaching High School Basketball, Minor League Baseball and volunteering for several community groups.
Since 2003 Bart has successfully co-owned and operated several businesses in the Niagara Region. Bart is married to Julie, an elementary school teacher in Niagara Falls.
