| Info | A native of Portland, Rep. Anne Rand was raised on Munjoy Hill and attended local schools. She received her nurses’ training at the Maine School of Practical Nursing and was employed at Mercy Hospital for 15 years.
In 1980, Anne and her husband, Dale, started their own printing shop at the base of Munjoy Hill.
Anne was first elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 1986. She served four terms in the House, followed by four terms in the Maine Senate, including a term as the Assistant Majority Leader. She has served as chair of the Conduct and Ethics Committee, Judiciary Committee, Senatorial Vote Committee and State House Renovation Committee. Her last term in the Senate ended in 2002.
Additionally, Anne is a founding member of the Munjoy Hill Neighborhood Association, past board member of the Peoples’ Regional Opportunity Program, steering committee member of the Working Waterfront Coalition, and trustee of the Southern Maine Labor Council.
She has four children and three grandchildren.
