| Info | Leah Tysoe loves her community of Eglinton—Lawrence and is passionate about protecting human rights and sustainability. Leah and the Ontario Greens will work towards ensuring rent control and assistance for residents displaced due to urban development, inclusivity for disabled persons, universal basic income, and food security for all.
A dedicated activist and supporter of local charitable organizations and collectives, Leah consistently turns her passion for human rights and environmental activism into action. She has spent over eight years as an MS Society Planning Committee member and is deeply involved with the work of the TransitionTreemobile group, which aims to reduce Ontario’s dependence on fossil fuels, encourage residents to grow food in their backyards, and actively plant thousands of food-bearing trees and plants across the city.
Leah has also worked with the St. Stephen Urban Orchard and the Ben Nobleman Orchard, and co-founded the Marleeville Collective, which promotes food sovereignty, security, and accessibility in the Lawrence Heights, Marlee Ave., and Eglinton West neighbourhoods.
Leah has called Eglinton—Lawrence home for much of her life, and continues to demonstrate her love for the riding by starting and participating in initiatives to improve the well-being of all residents. Leah is ready to help make her community and province a better place to live.
