Info | As a retired Sergeant in the Denver Sheriff Department, I know the importance of strong leadership and the need to keep communities safe. Throughout this time, I have heard the concerns of our neighbors and it is clear there is a deficit in our state's leadership. Our Legislators do not focus on keeping our communities safe. Our leaders should support our Police Officers, in the life and death decisions they face every day. Training and equipment must be funded if our officers are to keep our community safe. Our community leaders need to ensure we are hiring more officers, and working to retain those who serve our communities well. Colorado's officers must know our community supports their efforts. We also need to crack down on repeat criminals. Those who victimize our families must not be allowed to live without consequence. Crime must not be rewarded. Secondly, while at the Sheriff’s Department I saw that our infrastructure is not up to par. Many roads are unsafe, and when projects are created to fix them, they end up over budget and over deadline. Finally, the state legislature should focus on ensuring that parents know what decisions their schoolboards are making and what is contained in their curriculum. Colleges and schools should never be used indoctrinate children to any political agenda or demoralize our children.
