InfoJean-Éric Guindon was born in 1963. He studied science, obtained his degree in 1986, and then went on to study law at Laval University. He graduated in 1992. Mr. Guindon has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1993. He practices law with the firm Bélanger Sauvé in Trois-Rivières. He is also a legal consultant for the Quebec Construction Association, Mauricie region.

Mr. Guindon has been involved in the work of socio-economic agencies in the region, such as the C�ur-du-Québec Youth Chamber of Commerce, the Cap-de-la-Madeleine / Ste-Marthe-du-Cap et St-Louis-de-France Chamber of Commerce, of which he was president from 1998-1999.

In 1999, Mr. Guindon was Chair of the Gala des Radissons organizing committee and elected personality of the year at the Cap-de-la-Madeleine / Ste-Marthe-du-Cap et St-Louis-de-France Chamber of Commerce-Tribute 2000.

He has been president of the Trois-Rivières Cégep Foundation since 2001.

He participated in the 1992 Constitutional Conferences in Calgary and Vancouver and also fought for the federalist side during the 1995 referendum.

Mr. Guindon has served as a volunteer and activist for ten years at both the provincial and federal levels. He was a member of the Federal Liberal Executive in Champlain from 1996 to 2001, and was Association President from 1999 to 2001.

He has been married to Diane G�linas for 15 years. They have one daughter, Laura, who is 7 years old.
