| Info | Don was born and raised in the community of Sturgis, and grew up in a farm family. He has personally witnessed the change that has occured in the Yorkton-Melville constituency.
Don Olson has spent a major part of his life working on conservation. His years with Duck's Unlimited through out the Yorkton-Melville riding has shown him the land and the people who make it work. From being in his Local 4-H Club as a youth to a Directoship on Prairie Land Pork Inc. Don believes we need a much different plan for rural and urban communities. Presently Don is working on a five year study of the air, land and water surrounding an Intensive Livestock Operation. Don knows agriculture and understand that we have to build a world that is economically and environmentally healthy.
Don believes that a strong community is a working community and a working community is a comopassionate community. Economic developement should be larger than Big Box retail and do more than concentrate wealth and people. Don wants to be positve change for your community.
Don Olson has served his community both as a Councillor and Mayor of Sturgis.
Don Olson was the founding chair of the Good Spirit REDA (Regional Economic Developement Authority)
