InfoDavid Mulroney is a second-time candidate for the Liberal Party. A lawyer by trade, he has been representing people for 24 years as well as prosecuting drug and fisheries cases for the Attorney General of Canada.

Mr. Mulroney has put his extensive leadership skills to good use in the voluntary sector, helping seniors, helping youth and building the institutions of his community. He is particularly proud of his involvement in a committee which built a 40-bed intermediate care lodge for seniors.

For the past twelve years, he has served on all three of the Royal British Columbia Museum’s boards (the Friends, the Corporation and the Foundation). Mr. Mulroney was also elected for two terms as President of the Friends of the RBCM, has served on boards of directors for several arts societies and has coached youth soccer.

Mr. Mulroney believes that government has a crucial role to play in preserving equal access to health care and in protecting community assets, such as our environment. He is proud of the Liberal record of defending and advancing civil rights for all and believes that we must invest in our youth and in those who need a hand to enter and remain in the workforce. Such an investment is not only driven by compassion, but also by the reality of an increasingly competitive world.

David and Maria, his wife of 28 years, have lived in Greater Victoria since 1988 and have four children. Maria teaches troubled youth in the Alternative School system.
