| Info | Rosie Barnes was the last SDP member elected to parliament when she won the 1987 Greenwich by-election. She was also the subject of ridicule when an Alliance ad shot her in soft lighting with her pet rabbit in the 1987 general election. Like her constituency neighbor, John Cartwright, she was a loyal Owenite who opposed the SDP's merger with the Liberals. Like Cartwright, the Labour Party put considerable effort into unseating her in the 1992 election after the collapse of Owen's continuing SDP. After her defeat she went back into her previous field.
