InfoRuth Solomon, a member of the Arizona State Senate, is in her fourth term. Senator Solomon served as Assistant Minority Leader and is currently the chairperson of the Appropriations Committee, chairperson of the Joint Legislative Budget Committee, and vice-chair of the Joint Committee on Capital Review. Prior to her election to the Senate, she served three terms in the Arizona House of Representatives.
Senator Solomon was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She moved to Arizona where she attended the University of Arizona and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She also pursued her graduate studies at the U of A.

Senator Solomon considers the health, education and well-being of children and their families her number one priority. She is supported in her efforts on behalf of Arizona's citizens by her husband, Arthur, her son, Barry, and his wife, Melissa, and two wonderful grandsons, Daniel and Benjamin.

Senator Solomon was a classroom teacher for 28 years and retired from the Tucson Unified School District.
