Info | Jerome Bauer has lived in the Skinker DeBaliviere neighborhood of St. Louis since 2005, serving the Washington University Cooperative Network, which he co-founded in 2003. He has actively supported the Eco City USA non-profit initiative to rebuild social capital in St Louis by creating a cradle to cradle cooperative network, and CoFED, the Cooperative Food Empowerment Directive. He has been active with Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment, the Student-Worker Alliance (at Wash U and Webster U), the Peace Economy Project, the Gateway Green Alliance, and many other activist groups. He is on the Central and Platform Committees of both the St Louis Green Party (www.gateway-greens.org) and he serves on the Missouri Green Party's Platform Committee.
Dr. Bauer has a PhD in Sanskrit Religious Literature from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in Religious Studies for UCSB, and two degrees from the University of Chicago: an AB in Anthropology, and an AM in Social Science (Ideology and Utopia). At Penn, he served as President of the South Asia Graduate Student Association and the Graduate Student Associations Council. He has taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Washington University in St Louis, Webster University, Saint Louis University, Fontbonne University, Columbia College in St Louis, Lindenwood University, and Southwestern Illinois College.
