InfoA widely-respected parliamentarian, Bob Kilger was first elected to the House of Commons in 1988, and re-elected in 1993, 1997 and 2000.

An energetic voice for his constituents, Mr. Kilger has also assumed senior Caucus and government responsibilities during his time in Parliament. On October 23, 1996, he was named Chief Government Whip and was re-appointed in June 1997. Prior to this appointment, he served both as Deputy Chair and Assistant Deputy Chair of the Committees of the Whole House. He also sat on the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs.

In Opposition, he served as Associate Critic for Consumer and Corporate Affairs, and Critic for Fitness and Amateur Sport.

A businessman in private life, Mr. Kilger was part-owner of a franchise restaurant and was educated in Cornwall at St. Lawrence High School and Classical College.

Mr. Kilger is married to Bernice.
