Info | Fiona Twycross was elected to the London Assembly in May 2012 and is a Labour Londonwide Assembly Member.
Fiona is Chair of the Economy Committee and a member of the Housing Committee and Audit Panel. She is also Vice Chair of the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority and Labour spokesperson on fire. Prior to her election she worked for the health charity Diabetes UK.
Fiona has campaigned on the issue of Food Poverty and got the Mayor to agree to sign up to work towards making London a ‘Zero Hunger City’ by 2020. This followed an investigation she led on into the scale of food poverty in London on behalf of the Assembly’s Health and Environment Committee, which produced the A Zero Hunger City: Tackling Food Poverty in London report. Fiona has consistently lobbied for the Mayor to do more to tackle low pay, particularly around the London Living Wage as well as raising the issue of child poverty in London.
