Supreme Court Decision: In June 1948, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a law authored by Hugh P. Donnelly, SB 413 (1945), was unconstitutional. The law, which prohibited the sale of fishing licenses to persons "ineligible to citizenship", was found to violate the Fourteenth Amendment. (Takahashi v. Fish and Game Commission, 334 U.S. 410)
