Rob was first elected to the House of Commons in 2004 and was re-elected in 2006. Most recently, he served as Critic for Agriculture and Agri-Food and as a member of the Standing Committee on Justice, Human Rights, Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness. During the last Parliament Rob was the Chair of the Atlantic Conservative Caucus. Rob was also a member of the Legislative Committee on Bill C-38, the Civil Marriage Act, and a member of the Subcommittee on the process for appointment to the Federal Judiciary. From 2001 to 2003, he was the justice policy adviser in the Office of the Leader of the Opposition.

Rob has a bachelor's degree in business administration and a bachelor of laws degree from the University of New Brunswick and was called to the New Brunswick Bar in June 2000. Born in 1974, in Gander , Newfoundland, he recieved his High School education at KV High School and attended UNB Saint John and Fredericton and lives in Quispamsis NB.
