Info | Kevin is identified as a leading Canadian advocate for better and limited government. He spent the last four years as the Federal and Ontario Director for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation where he proposed constructive solutions to make governments across Canada work better and life easier for Ontarians. One of his proudest accomplishments was to work with the Prime Minister to get a law passed ending Old Age Security and Guaranteed Income Supplement benefits for prisoners like child serial killer Clifford Olson.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Kevin has a broad understanding of Canada having lived in eight provinces. He has lived in Mississauga, Hamilton, London, and Ottawa and has settled in East Toronto for the last 11 years. His undergraduate degree is in Philosophy from the University of Lethbridge. He enjoyed a Summer Fellowship in Communications at the University of Amsterdam and completed his MBA at one of Canada’s leading business schools, the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Kevin has both public and private-sector work experience. He was the Director of Opposition Research for Preston Manning, Leader of the Reform Party of Canada. He has provided marketing strategy and government relations expertise to high-tech firms in telecommunications, banking, computer services and medical technology. Having carried profit and loss responsibilities for product lines in excess of $80 million, Kevin understands the challenges facing Ontario businesses.
Winter and summer camping in Ontario parks are among Kevin’s favourite pastimes. He also volunteers as a Scout Leader with his local Scouting troop with Scouts Canada. He and his wife, Maki, know the struggles of hard-working families, juggling their busy work lives with the fun demands of their three young children. Kevin is Chairman of the Board of his children’s school daycare. Kevin is functionally bilingual in French and English.
