| Info | Marinus Vander Vloet was born in Strathroy, Ontario and was raised on a family owned and operated dairy farm southwest of Parkhill, Ontario, along with his 12 siblings. A consistent honours student while attending Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School in Strathroy, Marinus also completed co-operative education programs as a small engine mechanic and a general carpenter. Since his graduation in 2007, Marinus has been very involved in the family business. He has supported the farm in its transition to sustainable and environmentally-friendly farming practices, culminating in the achievement of organic production certification.
Marinus is very active in the local community. He is heavily involved in the local Parkhill Catholic youth group as a treasurer, youth leader, and volunteer. As well, he organizes educational events for college/university students and young adults. Marinus is the league convener and treasurer, as well as a team captain, for the men's ball hockey league in Watford, adds to his education by attending many life-respecting, family and marriage-affirming conferences, seminars and retreats, and keeps up-to-date on current trends and practices in the field of agriculture.
