| Info | Eric Loewen, 22, has run his own company, Loewen Painting, for the past 2 years. He has lived in Aylmer his whole life and he would be proud to represent his community in Queen’s Park this fall as a Green MPP.
Always interested in serving his community, Eric studied GIS and Urban Planning at Fanshawe College. He also has training in the “Transition Town Movement” which is an initiative to engage whole communities in efforts to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and strengthen community resilience.
Eric is passionate about creating strong local economies that are ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century. As a board member for both the Home Based Business Association, and the Elgin Business Resource Centre, Eric has helped to support entrepreneurs in his community through presentations and mentorship. Eric is also an Ambassador for the County of Elgin’s Economic Development Program and has a membership to all 5 Chamber of Commerce in Elgin, including St. Thomas, Aylmer, Otter Valley, Dutton Dunwich, and West Elgin.
Eric enjoys spending his leisure time outdoors riding his bicycle and learning more about the geography of the region. He has been a local baseball coach for two years.
As an MPP for Elgin-Middlesex-London, Eric would prioritize creating green jobs, and delivering government that works for his community.
