I am a native of Arizona, born in Mesa, raised in Chandler. I graduated from Chandler High School. My family and I have lived in District 22 for the past 12 years.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Arizona, a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Investments from the George Washington University, and a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University.
I am the President and Executive Director of Benjamin Franklin Charter Schools. I have served in these positions for the past 13 years. I am a corporate attorney by profession and practiced corporate law for 12 years. I have served on various corporate boards for many years.
My community service spans a breadth of time and involvement. Beginning in my early years of college and continuing through the present day, community service has been a very important part of my life. I have been involved in Church Service, Special Olympics, Boy Scouts of America, advocating for education and education reform, working with various youth groups, and speaking to groups about constitutional principles and freedom, to name a few.
As a businessman, I understand the challenges, risks and rewards of running a business. I know what it’s like to be stifled by the burden of regulation, frustrated at the excessive taxation and the responsibility of making payroll. I am concerned about the lack of a trained work force. During my tenure in the legislature I have been a leading advocate for business. I understand that small business is the backbone of the economy and by lowering the burdens placed on small business we will benefit business owners, their employees and the state as a whole.
