Info | Chris has the kind of experience we need to effectively run the Sheriff’s Department in Milwaukee County.
Chris is a lifelong resident of Milwaukee County. He was born in the City of Milwaukee at St. Joseph’s Hospital and was raised in Wauwatosa. His mother, a teacher, and father, a U.S. Treasury Agent with the IRS, both taught Chris that public service and helping others was the right way to live. Growing up, Chris attended the St. Jude The Apostle School and moved with his family to Greendale in 1985. Chris graduated from Marquette High School in 1990.
After spending two years in seminary discerning a vocation to priesthood, Chris decided to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice because he wanted to start a family. Prior to graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 1995, he began his 16-year career as a police officer in Milwaukee County.
Chris started working in the Village of Fox Point even before he graduated. After receiving a Letter of Commendation for aiding in the apprehension of a combative suspect during his first year of duty, Chris transferred to the City of Milwaukee Police Department where he has worked since July, 1996. During his time with the department, Chris has worked in Patrol, Narcotics, Sensitive Crimes, and Criminal Investigations. In 2001, he was promoted to rank of Detective. In April 2009, Chris was promoted to Police Lieutenant and assigned to the Criminal Investigation Bureau – Robbery Division. Currently, he is the late shift Lieutenant supervising the Homicide Division.
Chris has always been an active member of our community. He was a “Big Brother” to people who have Down’s Syndrome at St. Colletta’s Home for the mentally challenged, he organized annual food drives at his parish delivering food to local women’s shelters, and volunteered at the Laubach Literacy Center in Milwaukee where he tutored illiterate adults how to read and write. He also served as the confirmation retreat coordinator and small group facilitator at St. Alphonsus and as a “Focus Couples” marriage preparation volunteer.
Chris and his wife Nicole live in the Jackson Park area with their two sons, ages 7 and 5. Chris enjoys golfing with his sons, and spending quality time with his family.
