Nicola Turner has lives in the Colne Valley with her family and knows the area very well.

Nicola has long experience in manufacturing and, more recently, has embarked on a career as an NHS professional.
Nicola is a well-known campaigner who is very active in taking up local issues on behalf of residents.
She has fought changes to HRI for over 15 years! Firstly, when a Labour Government down graded the Maternity unit and began the series of attempts by Government to reduce the HRI to a cottage hospital which is totally unsuitable and unacceptable to Huddersfield and the Colne Valley.
Nicola is closely involved in the community life of the Colne Valley and is always ready to help individual residents with their problems and concerns.
The Colne Valley absolutely depends on good roads to enable residents and businesses thrive. The potholed roads that are endured are the consequence of under investment by Government, as well as Kirklees Labour choosing not to provide sufficient funding for basic repairs to keep our roads safe. The Lib Dems proposed an extra £1m every year to help mend our roads but Labour refused to do so.
And then there is the constant issue that the Council under Labour appears unable to understand. This is that roads in the hills of the Colne Valley suffer more and more often from below zero temperatures and therefore need to be gritted more often. There are simple solutions using basic technology that will identify when roads need to be gritted but Labour seem incapable of appreciating its importance.
Introducing car park charges in Marsden and Slaithwaite is another blow for the local economy. Many businesses depend on visitors trade and local people dropping by for a mini shop. Charging to park will put these businesses at risk.
there's much that needs to be done. Nicola has the energy and commitment to provide the real leadership that the Colne Valley needs.
