InfoGeorge Flowers was born and raised in Houston County. While growing up in the Wiregrass, his parents, Grace and Paul Flowers, taught him the value of hard work and the importance of faith and family. George was a member of the Boy Scouts and attended public schools. He was part of the first graduating class at Northview High School in 1979. From there he went on to receive degrees from both Auburn University and the University of Alabama.

George has been a leader in business and in his community. Through his business experience, he knows what it takes to create jobs and economic development. George has owned and operated businesses in the Wiregrass in real estate, manufacturing, construction, healthcare and transportation. He currently serves as President of Cox Swimming Pools, Inc. George knows what it’s like to sign both sides of a paycheck, and this experience has prepared him to provide the kind of leadership we need to turn things around during these tough economic times.

George also understands that the greatest assets of Geneva, Dale and Houston Counties are its people. He has worked hard throughout the years to make a difference in his community. His civic and charitable involvement has included the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, Adopt-a-School, Christian Counseling and Special Olympics. George is a past board member of the Dothan Boys’ Club and House of Ruth. He is also a member of the Rotary Club.

George and his wife Laura have been married for 25 years and have three children, Emily, Davis and Littleton. They are active members of First United Methodist Church in Dothan, where George has taught Sunday School and is a member of United Methodist Men and In Christ Name Committee.
