InfoPresident of Bolivia since January 22, 2006. Survived a recall vote in 2008. Instituted a new constitution establishing Bolivia as a "plurinational state" (a nation of co-existing nationalities) modeled after that of its neighbor, Ecuador.

Reelected in 2009, and (controversially, in spite of term limits) again in 2014. A 2016 Referendum denying Morales a fourth term was overturned by a Supreme Tribunal in December 2017, clearing the path for his candidacy in 2019.
