Platform: O’Grady is campaigning to become the first Columbus City Council member elected from Delaware County. He lives in one of the city’s newest, northernmost areas, annexed in the 1990s.
He says the perspective from the outer reaches of Columbus makes him keenly aware of how the city has stretched its resources — from snow plows to police officers — way too thin.
O’Grady has called for more police on the city force and a more thorough review of city spending “so we know safety dollars and economic incentives really do what they are meant to do."
“I want to shake up the complacency at City Hall,” he said. “I don't think there is a sense of urgency about the crime issue or the need to keep growing jobs. That is troubling.”
