Platform: Bingle boasts of accomplishments as a member of the Clintonville Area Commission — a revamped High Street business corridor among them — and says he wants to help other parts of the city help themselves, too.
He wants to boost the role neighborhood representatives play in city government and add more neighborhood liaisons to the staff at City Hall.
“Having come from a strong area commission, how do we spread that seed?” he asks. “On the day-to-day stuff, the city doesn’t engage them as it should.”
Bingle wants Columbus to put a park in every neighborhood. He envisions them as a focal point that will get residents involved in other issues.
He has been critical of candidates who make campaign promises but don’t talk about paying for them. He’s the only candidate to say a tax increase should be considered.
