InfoFred Elliott Hall, 44, is founder and president of Novatech Computer Services Company, and president of H&P Protective Services, which he acquired in 2005. He is an entrepreneur, community servant, and lifelong Detroit resident whose commitment and connections to the city remain strong. Fred believes in Detroit and is doing his part to help it thrive.

Fred grew up on Detroit's northwest side. When he was nine years old, just because he wanted to make his own money, Fred sold produce seeds door to door, and a year later he started a paper route. The athletic skill he exhibited while a student at University of Detroit High School earned him a scholarship to Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.

When he graduated from college, Fred returned home to the city he loves and became employed as a computer programmer at Chrysler, the same company where his great grandfather worked for nearly 40 years. Fred was laid off from Chrysler and obtained employment with another company, but knew he could succeed as a business owner. He paid his way through graduate school at Wayne State University where he completed an MBA in finance, and in 1989 he founded Novatech. It was one of the first computer services companies of its kind, providing computer training and networking.

With clients in Detroit and the surrounding region, Fred hired and still primarily hires Detroiters to service both computer and protective services client accounts. He believes in giving back to the community that has given him the opportunity to build successful businesses and support his family.

Fred is married to Jamy, an executive director at Ford Motor Company. His daughter Sydney is in high school and his son Camryn is in kindergarten. He is a lifelong member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church and serves as a Trustee. He is a member of the advisory board of New Center Community Health Services and on the Board of Directors of Silverspoon Home Services, which provides assistance to expectant mothers. Other civic affiliations include memberships in the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Detroit Metro Visitors and Conventions Bureau, the NAACP and the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and Michigan Democratic Future. He also co-founded Project Exposure - an African American young male mentoring program.
