InfoCongressman Lincoln Davis hopes to continue in the rich tradition of quality representation by elected officials that have preceded him: Cordell Hull, Secretary of State under President Roosevelt, father of the United Nations, and former congressman; Congressman Joe L. Evins; and Vice President Al Gore.

Raised in rural Fentress County Lincoln was taught the importance of hard work, helping your neighbors, being trustworthy, and was instilled with a strong sense of values, which he still holds today.

Lincoln has been publicly serving Tennesseans since the late 1970's and has been an active member in his community even longer.

Lincoln began his career in public service in 1978 when he was elected to serve the first of his two terms as mayor of Byrdstown. Lincoln served in Tennessee's House of Representatives for two terms and two terms in the state Senate. In the state legislature Lincoln supported pay raises for teachers and state employees, long-term care for senior citizens, character education in schools, and new domestic violence legislation.

Davis started a construction business, Diversified Construction Company, which builds homes, apartment complexes, offices, and develops land. He doesn't just talk about creating jobs and opportunities; his construction projects have provided jobs and opportunities all across the 4th District for two decades.

Family is extremely important to Lincoln. He married his high school sweetheart Lynda, an elementary school teacher, in 1963. Together they have raised three strong, beautiful, and caring daughters: Larissa, Lynn, Libby. Congressman and Mrs. Davis have 5 grandchildren: Ashton, Alexia, Andrew, Austin, Adam.

Lincoln and Lynda live in Pall Mall, on property his family purchased from Fentress County native, World War I Hero, and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Alvin C. York. They attend First Baptist Church in Byrdstown.

Lincoln earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy from Tennessee Technological University
