InfoBorn and raised in Ozone Park, Queens, Eric Ulrich heard the call to serve others at a very young age. While attending Nativity B.V.M catholic elementary school, Eric contemplated becoming a Roman Catholic Priest. He went on to discern this vocation at Cathedral Preparatory Seminary High School. Though he eventually opted for a political career, the seeds of public service were firmly planted during those formative years.

At St. Francis College, Eric earned a Bachelor-of-Arts Degree in political science and currently maintains matriculated status at St. John’s University Graduate School of American Government.

In 2005, Eric ran for a Republican District Leader post, but lost by a mere 124 votes. This loss only energized Eric’s aspirations and taught him the importance of perseverance and persistence. Two years later, he mounted yet another challenge and won a decisive victory.

While in college, Eric gained a wealth of governmental experience. He has worked for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the New York City Council, and the Queens Board of Elections.

In his spare time, Eric enjoys writing. He has authored op-ed columns on a variety of topics and has been featured in many newspaper periodicals including the New York Times (online), New York Newsday, New York Daily News, Queens Chronicle, Queens Courier Sun, Rockaway Wave, and the Catholic newsweekly “The Tablet.”

Eric is involved in making our communities better places to live, work and raise a family. He serves as the President of the Our Neighbors Civic Association of Ozone Park and is also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis Club of Howard Beach, National Political Science Honor Society-Pi Sigma Alpha, New York Republican State Committee and a former Community Board #9 member.

Eric is engaged to Ms. Yadira Moran. They plan to marry in 2009.
