Info | I would like to express how proud I am to be a part of the Gilbert Public Schools system. Gilbert Public Schools employees do a wonderful job in educating our children. I have thoroughly enjoyed being on the governing board since being appointed last April. This experience has taught me a great deal and has opened my eyes to so much more that I can contribute.
My 19 years of financial experience at ASU – from managing various accounting departments to balancing budgets for various financial areas to ensuring compliance with policies and procedures – has served me well. I am also a product of ASU with a degree in Management and post graduation degree in Accounting.
I am a native of Arizona, born and raised in Phoenix. I have been living in Gilbert for more than 10 years and I plan to stay. I am married and have 3 children, all attending Gilbert Public Schools. My daughter is a sophomore at Mesquite High School, my son is an 8th grader at South Valley Junior High, and my youngest son is a 2nd grader at Ashland Ranch Elementary. Having a child in each school level helps me stay abreast with the opportunities and challenges at each level.
For the past 10 years, I have been volunteering my time and efforts at the Phoenix Chinese School, involved in all aspects of operations and financial matters. It is my way of giving back to the community that I was born and raised in. Being part of the Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board gives me the same opportunity to give back to the Gilbert community that has been part of my life for so long.
I am passionate about seeing children flourish and grow - from kindergarten to high school to college and on to successful careers - and I get great pleasure from knowing that they got their start from Gilbert Public Schools. Every child deserves to have a good education and learn the life long skills that Gilbert Public Schools teaches.
It has been a true pleasure and honor serving on the Governing Board, one that values harmonious relationships and continuity while maintaining independent judgments. I would like to have the opportunity to listen to your inputs about Gilbert schools and address any concerns you may have in the upcoming term.
