InfoIt’s time to AIM for Excellence! Every child deserves a high quality education at their neighborhood school creating a foundation for, and opportunity to pursue, the American dream.

Happily married for 16 years, my husband and I have had the opportunity to live in 3 different states and to experience a variety of schools (public and charter) as we have sought out quality educational opportunities for our 5 school-aged children.

Surrounded by family passionate about education (over 50 years of combined teaching experience), I have welcomed the opportunities to serve over the past 10 years on district and school task forces, with parent/teacher organizations, booster clubs, teaching art appreciation classes, and assisting teachers in the classroom.

Having worked since I was 14, I believe my diverse experiences (including sales, product development, marketing, finance, web technology, management, human resources, and leadership positions) will be valuable in representing the desires of our community and children as well as supporting our teachers.

I believe it is time to put the Unified back into Dysart and AIM, not for average, but for excellence. My AIMS include...

A - Accountability and Integrity

Everyone from student to superintendent needs to be accountable for their actions. A system for reporting, tracking and resolving concerns and conflicts within the district (while also offering anonymity when desired) needs to be implemented to increase trust and morale between parents, teachers and all levels of administration that includes non-administrative oversight.
Increase transparency of decision making processes and facilitate increased parent feedback attainable through methods including live web feeds, surveys and interactive polls.

I - Individual Excellence

Better prepare all children to obtain not only test taking skills but life skills to compete in a global economy.
NCLB needs to become "No Child Left Bored" to ensure individual learning needs are identified in a timely manner and then immediately implemented.
Educational standards need to be raised, focusing on preparation for college, career training and skill building.
An exceptional education should not be just reading, writing and arithmetic. Education needs to include music, art, P.E. and technology regularly, and not as pullout programs.

M - Maximizing Our Resources

Be more resourceful with funds to ensure every teacher has the most advanced learning tools and aids in their classroom.
Implement more "green" friendly habits throughout the district including increased electronic communications and online technologies.

S - Synergize!

Create an online community to develop awareness of school needs, increasing participation and matching up of talent, experience and resources of volunteers, neighbors, local businesses, parent/teacher organizations, etc.
Utilize technologies to provide e-newsletters, online meetings, podcasts and polls that provide flexibility in parent and community participation.

I am devoted to being a voice for our children and community; and to advocate for excellence in our educational system. Please visit www.BonnieSchroader.com to learn more about me, to share your own ideas and vision for our district, and let your voice be heard. Together, we can achieve excellence!
