Prior to that he was the IRB’s Chief of the Documentation Centre for the Prairie Region. He has also worked for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in parts of Africa.
He has a bachelor and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Calgary, specializing in policy and international social work. Michael also holds a Certificate in International Law and Protection of Refugees from York University in Toronto.

If elected, Michael will act on improving access to health care and eliminating health care premiums; increasing funding for education, especially ESL programs; affordable housing; making childcare more affordable and accessible; and creating an atmosphere of safe city, communities and neighbourhoods. “If I dream alone, it is just a dream, if we dream together, it is the beginning of a better tomorrow.”
Michael is married and enjoys soccer, reading, travelling, and dancing.
