InfoBorn in 1963 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Rebecca Schneider grew up in rural western Pennsylvania in a middle class neighborhood. Rebecca graduated from Mars High School in 1982 and Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. During the course of attending college and working two, sometimes three jobs to pay her way, she set the course of her career when she began working in the library and currently works as a Library Supervisor for Arizona State University Libraries.

Working with people in many arenas, Rebecca has experience forging common ground, finding consensus and enacting solutions which benefit all parties.

Prior to moving to Arizona in 2001, Rebecca Schneider lived and worked in a small town which, at one time, had been dubbed "the home of drive-by shootings". Thankfully, the police did their job and cleared out the criminal element, but the reputation lingered and businesses and homeowners fled.

Schneider took up a quest, while working at the town library, to change the town’s image. She recruited and coordinated with the Mayor's office, Borough Council, the school districts, the library, the police and fire departments, state government, local business, other citizens and, critically, the media to create community events that brought many diverse groups together for a common goal of community building. Regularly staging positive events lead to good news about the community being disseminated and eventually served to replace the town’s tarnished image. The project was successful. Businesses returned, people began buying and renting homes again and visitors were no longer afraid to arrive after dark!

Rebecca has a long history of working within and with government entities to achieve success for the organizations and communities by which she has been employed. She has experience managing budgets as well as personnel as part of her management of a Maricopa County Branch Library in addition to her current supervisory position at ASU. Schneider brought together business, government and private foundation groups to raise the funds necessary to build a new library building in Sun Lakes, Arizona. She will use those same skills to bridge the aisle in Congress and foster relationships to enact legislation that doesn't undermine our Constitutional rights while providing true security to our nation.

Rebecca Schneider has a deep familiarity with the personal losses and rigorous demands of life that every person faces. Rebecca has faced financial ups and downs, endured loss in her personal life, and dealt with crimes against herself, her family and her friends. She knows what it is like to have to choose between getting new glasses or eating, or between fixing the car or buying medication; nonetheless, Schneider values rising above adversity to work hard and create a better life for ourselves and others.

Rebecca’s common sense, broad life experiences, affability, drive to champion the underdog, strong organizational and multitasking abilities, and a capacity to forge unity of purpose with diverse parties are exactly the set of skills needed in Congress. Rebecca Schneider is focused on ethics and intent on restoring citizens’ constitutional rights as well as accountability to government.
