Info | Rep. Thomas Flanigan, a Republican, represents part of Jasper County (District 127) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Prior to his duties as a legislator, Rep. Flanigan served as special assistant to Senator Gary Nodler. In addition, he previously owned the Thomas Flanigan Insurance Agency.
Rep. Flanigan is a fifth generation Jasper County resident and serves in the same legislative seat held by his great grandfather, John H. “Fire Alarm” Flanigan, who was a member of the 35th General Assembly.
Rep. Flanigan is a member of the following organizations: Carthage and Carl Junction Chambers of Commerce; Jasper County Farm Bureau; Rotary Club of Carthage; National Rifle Association; Knights of Pythais-Carthage, Lodge #14; Missouri Historical Society; Ozark Trails Council – Boy Scouts of America, executive board; Boy Scouts of America, assistant scoutmaster for Troop 9; McCune-Brooks Regional Hospital Healthcare Foundation, president; Family Literacy Council – Carthage, past president; and the Carthage City Council, former member and Mayor Pro Tem. Rep. Flanigan attends Grace Episcopal Church where he is a licensed lay minister
A 1971 graduate of Carthage Senior High School, Rep. Flanigan attended Missouri Southern College and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1975.
Born August 27, 1953 in Carthage, Rep. Flanigan currently resides there with his wife, Anita. They have three children – Elizabeth, Kathleen and William.
