John De Vault’s company; member of the State house of representatives in 1815 and 1816; judge of the court of common pleas in 1818; brigadier general of the State militia in 1822; elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-third Congress (March 4, 1833-March 3, 1835); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1834 to the Twenty-fourth Congress; resumed the practice of medicine in Zanesville, Ohio, where he died November 13, 1848; interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
