Joy Morris and served from July 2, 1861, to March 3, 1863; unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1862 to the Thirty-eighth Congress; chairman of the Democratic State central committee in 1863; one of the proprietors and editor in chief of the Philadelphia Age until his death in Philadelphia September 28, 1873; interment in Old St. Peter’s Church Cemetery.
