Info | George was born and raised in St. George's, one of 17 children of Jack and Loretta Lee. He attended St. Joseph's School in St. George's.
George served with the Canadian Armed Forces Royal Highland Regiment, The Black Watch of Canada, for 3 years. During this time, he completed a tour of peace-keeping duties in Cyprus, in the Mediterranean. George also served with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Reserves in Stephenville for nine years. He is also a member of the following organizations:
-The Chamber of Commerce
-The Sandy Point Heritage Committee
-The St. George’s Economic Development Association (Treasurer)
-The Coastal Committee
-The Seven Rivers Group
-The Lion’s Club ( past member)
Throughout the years, George has worked in a variety of areas including on the construction of the Abitibi mill in Stephenville and with Canada Post for 28 years. He has also owned and operated a lounge business for 25 years.
In a volunteer capacity, George also has served the community as founder and president (four years) of the Bay St. George Foster Family Association. He has also held the position of President of The Newfoundland and Labrador Foster Families Association for 4 years.
George is married to Shirley Bouzan; and together, they have raised seven children. George and Shirley currently reside in Barachois Brook.
