InfoA 28-year resident of Elgin, Michael, wife Veronica, daughter Claire - and newest arrival Lucien - reside on Elgin's northeast side. In his early years he grew up on a Central Illinois farm where his parents taught the value of hard work and self-discipline.

He is a graduate of Elgin High School and the University of Illinois in Chicago where he also earned an MBA .He also holds a law degree and was a member of the national dean's list from John Marshall Law School . As a practicing attorney, based in Elgin since 2002, he has served with the Kane County Public Defender's Office and continues his dedication to pro bono advocacy. to pro bono advocacy.

Mike understands the the world of work and the concerns of entrepreneurs. Starting at age 8 he shined shoes and did odd jobs In high school he worked late nights in a grocery store and worked his way through college, graduate school and law school as a self-employed chauffeur.

As a US Navy Corpsman he served with the 4th Marine Division and at Great Lakes Naval Hospital. He received various awards including the National Defense Medal, Navy Marksman rating, Good Conduct Badge and letters of Commendation and Appreciation for stateside service during the Persian Gulf War.A strong believer in community service, Michael regularly volunteers for PADS, "Public Action to Deliver Shelter" for the homeless and currently serves on the advisory board of KAIROS Family Counseling Center. He is a past member of the Elgin Image Commission, Elgin Tree Committee, Izaak Walton League and volunteer with the Community Crisis Center.
