Prohibition activist; ran for several offices under the party banner - including Vice President 1984, KS Governor 1958 and 1982, KS Lt. Governor 1978, KS Treasurer 1956, county commissioner 1952.
Served on the Kansas State Parole Board in the 1960s during the George Docking administration, when Docking had decided not to appoint Republicans to the minority seats.
Wife was Georgia (Proctor) Martin; three children. Free Methodists.
Died in Junction City KS on 8/5/1998.
