Info | A businesswoman and lawyer, Pamela has been an active volunteer and resident in the Toronto Centre community for over 20 years.
Pamela was called to the Bar in 1982 and has had extensive service in Ontario’s justice system including in private practice and as General Counsel to the broadcast media. She has co-managed a business in the food industry, provided consulting services to help small business and taught business law at both the University of Toronto and Ryerson University. Pamela began her career as a human resources professional and is a trained mediator.
As Chair of the Board of Directors of one of Ontario’s major Credit Unions, Pamela was responsible for the development and construction of Peregrine Cooperative, a coop housing project with rent geared to income. She has also lobbied successfully to the lawyers’ insurer, Law Pro, for changes to allow in-house corporate counsel to perform ‘pro bono’ work for those unable to afford it. Her law practice has subsequently included many ‘pro bono’ clients.
Her other volunteer activities have included as General Counsel to the TVOntario Foundation, and as active supporter of organizations such as Toronto East General Hospital Foundation, Christ Church Deer Park, Covenant House, Moorelands Camp, Mooredale House, Lawyers Feed the Hungry, Cabbagetown Community Arts Centre, and the Ontario Clean Air Alliance.
Pamela received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College, University of Toronto before obtaining her law degree from Queen’s University. She holds a certificate in Advanced Mediation from the University of Windsor and received her Masters of Business Administration degree from the Rotman School of Management where she currently volunteers as a Board member for the Integrative Management Challenge course.
Pamela is fluently bilingual in English and French, is married and has two sons.
