Info | Jotham Stein has understood the value of education since he was very young. He was valedictorian of his Syosset High School class and went to Princeton University to earn an A.B., with honors, from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Jotham, active and involved in his community, played soccer and chess in High School and was a member of the crew (rowing) team at Princeton University.
Before entering law school at Stanford University, Jotham drove a cab in Philadelphia, joined the Teamsters Union, hitchhiked across Europe and Africa, and raced luges (sleds), once ranking 16th in United States.
At Stanford Law School, Jotham was a teaching assistant for Stanford University’s Departments of Political Science and Education. Jotham taught "Major Issues in American Public Policy," "Civil Rights, Civil Liberties, and Poverty Issues in the United States," and "International Politics."
Jotham joined a high tech law firm after graduation. He left to learn Spanish in Guatemala and travel through Central and South America . Upon returning home from South America, Jotham became a Lecturer in Legal Research and Writing at School of Law (Boalt Hall), University of California at Berkeley where he taught law students to research thoroughly, write cogently and advocate clearly.
Since 1996 Jotham has been in private legal practice. The bulk of his current practice is negotiating fast-paced business and employment deals. He has experience working with founders and entrepreneurs of all types, on all sides, to get transactions completed. For many years, Jotham also served as a volunteer, court appointed Arbitrator.
Jotham is married to Victoria who grew up in Evanston, earned her B.A. from the University of Illinois, and received her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. Jotham and Victoria moved back to Illinois to raise Gershon, their 5 year old son and to be closer to family.
Jotham is Captain of the Boca Seniors, an indoor 30+ soccer team which competes at the Sportsplex in St. Charles. He is also a member of the St. Charles Celtics Soccer Club and plays outdoor soccer in the North Suburban Soccer League 30+ division. He can also be found some mornings rowing on the Fox River. Jotham is a member of the Kane County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors.
