Info | The common thread to Robert Gordons career has been a desire to shape important community institutions. He sees this Assembly race as another opportunity to promote positive change, and he believes he has a unique combination of skills for the job. He has worked at every level of government, run two companies and consulted to hospitals and corporations. As a member of the first class of Leadership New Jersey, he wrote a book on state government.
Mr. Gordon grew up in Fair Lawn, attended public schools and graduated from Williams College, Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude. He earned a Master of Public Policy degree from Berkeley and an M.B.A. from Wharton. His career has spanned the public and private sectors. In Washington, Mr. Gordon worked in the Presidents Council on Environmental Quality, on economic policy at the Brookings Institution, and at the Congressional Budget Office. In Trenton, he worked as an assistant to the Governor. He also served ten years as Fair Lawn Mayor and Councilman. His business career has been equally diverse. Mr. Gordon worked for major consulting firms, and ran a Paterson textile mill. Four years ago, he founded the states leading consulting firm in emergency planning and disaster recovery.
Married to Gail Gordon, a Republican strategist and fundraiser
