Info | Ron Freeman was born in Boonville, Mo., and has lived in Kansas City since 1987. He graduated from Pittsburgh State University in Kansas with undergraduate and masters degrees in education. Freeman tried out unsuccessfully for spots on two NFL teams - the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs - but did play with Pittsburgh and Orlando teams in the USFL in 1984-87 as a linebacker. He is an urban ministry director for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He made a bid for the U.S. House in 1992 but lost in the GOP primary. Freeman and his wife, Teresa, have four children.
