Info | Sandra Morin is the MLA for the constituency of Regina Walsh Acres. She was first elected in November 2003. Before being elected to the Assembly, Sandra worked for Canada Safeway. From 1994 to 2003, she was Chief Shop Steward for Canada Safeway employees, representing nearly 600 workers.
Sandra is Vice-Chair of the NDP Caucus and Chair of the Crown and Central Agencies Committee, as well as a member of the Legislative Instruments Committee. Sandra is also the NDP Caucus delegate to the Sask Legislative Internship Program. Sandra was raised in North Regina, where she still lives with her husband Jeff and her nine-year-old daughter.
Sandra has always been very active in her community. Sandra and her husband are certified with the Canadian Ski Instructor Association and coach children through the Regina Alpine Race Team’s Snow Star Program. Sandra and Jeff also coach soccer with the Regina Northwest Soccer Association. Sandra is a member of the Home and School Association for the French immersion school that her daughter attends.
Sandra is a long-time, active member of the German cultural community. She is on the parent council of her daughter’s German Folk Dance Group, and a volunteer with the German Language School in Regina. Sandra is fluent in German and has a conversational knowledge of French. Sandra enjoys being a part of her community and volunteers her time, participating in a wide variety of events including service on the Anniversary Committee of the Regina YWCA’s Women of Distinction Awards.
